TALLAHASSEE — Governor-Elect Charlie Crist today appointed Robert “Bob” Sparks as Assistant Chief of Staff for Citizen Services and Diana Sawaya-Crane as Deputy Cabinet Aide.
“Under Bob’s leadership, the Attorney General’s office has enhanced citizen’s ability to access government,“ said Governor-Elect Crist. “I am committed to making government services and requirements easier to understand and I look forward to his recommendations.”
Bob Sparks is currently the Group Leader for the Family and Citizen Services Citizen Review Group on the Crist Transition Team. He formerly served as the Director of External Affairs in the Office of the Attorney General and oversaw the management of the agency’s Office of Communications, Office of Citizen Services, and the content of the web page. Mr. Sparks previously served in a similar capacity for the Department of Environmental Protection. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and spent seventeen years in professional baseball administration as a communications and planning executive. He graduated from Indiana University.
“Diana has served in the Office of the Attorney General for over fifteen years and has been a tremendous asset and great leader on issues dealing with the environment, natural resources and growth management,” said Governor-Elect Crist.
Diana Sawaya-Crane currently serves as a Cabinet Aide in the Office of the Attorney General. She has held this position since 1989 and previously worked as the Legislative Affairs Director for the Office of the Attorney General and Chief of the Bureau of Resource Management for the Division of Resource Planning and Management at the Department of Community Affairs. Ms. Sawaya-Crane graduated from the University of South Florida.
